Homemade Roasted Red Peppers
15 mins prepServes 4
Learn how to easily make homemade roasted red peppers that are superior to store-bought jarred versions. This method involves charring, steaming, peeling, and slicing fresh red peppers for a delicious and versatile ingredient.
Place red peppers over a burner or under the broiler until charred on all sides. Once charred, cover the peppers with a plate, foil, or place them in a pepper bag, and let them steam for at least 10 minutes. This helps loosen the skins. Remove the peppers and carefully peel off the charred skins. Slice each pepper half into strips of your desired thickness. Store the prepared red pepper strips in the refrigerator. For extended storage, you can optionally drizzle them with olive oil before refrigerating.
