Football-Shaped Jalapeño Bacon Cheddar Cheeseball
20 mins prepServes 10
A festive football-shaped cheeseball, perfect for tailgating or home-gate gatherings, featuring a blend of bacon, pickled jalapeños, cream cheese, and sharp cheddar, with fresh jalapeños and panko for topping.
1. Using a stand mixer or a bowl and a spatula mix 1/2 cup of the chopped bacon, the pickled jalapeño, cream cheese, 1 cup cheddar, 1/2 of the green onions, garlic powder, and salt until combined.
2. Scrape the mixture onto a large sheet of plastic wrap and, using the plastic wrap to keep your hands from getting messy, shape the mixture into a football. Flatten the top of the ball. You’ll want to press down on the middle and sort of pinch the sides while you press it into a football shape. Refrigerate for at least an hour and up to overnight.
3. Sprinkle/roll your cheese ball with the remaining green onion, 1/2 fresh jalapeño, bread crumbs and bacon and press firmly into the cheeseball to coat.
4. Place a few strips of cheese on the football to resemble laces. Serve with crackers, pretzels, or even veggies.
